Students should be literate in multiple languages and cultures and prepared for a multilingual, global future.

HISD should not dilute dual language program quality. More immersive dual language programs yield the best academic results and higher levels of bilingualism. The Superintendent should not reduce the language allocation model for any campus below the state minimum of 50/50 instruction and should increase the number of 80/20 campuses in the district.

10. What are your top three priorities from the items you mentioned?
HISD should not dilute dual language program quality. Our high performing Dual Language school doesn’t want a scripted curriculum forced on us next year, like is occurring at NES and NESA schools. We are highly rated and value autonomy. We want our teachers to keep doing what they’ve been doing – educating children well and preparing our children for a multilingual, global world.
